At halftime, Arthur Hill led by three. Sophomore Di'onquavis "Boop" Hardy scored seven despite two fouls limiting his second-quarter minutes. The Cull Brothers, Dempsey, and Jesse combined for 16 of the 20 Powers Catholic points.

Powers Catholic outscored Arthur Hill 16-8 in the third quarter, both senior guards Connor Kelly and Baylor Cicalo each with five.

The matchup that defined the January 5th matchup was Lumberjacks senior Lyna Brooks Jr. and Chargers junior Javontae Ross. Brooks had seven through the first three quarters, while Ross registered three.

Ross scored six in the first half of the final quarter. After a timeout called by Arthur Hill at the 5:51 mark, Powers Catholic responded with an 8-0 run in the next minute and 31 seconds. Connor Kelly knocked down back-to-back threes to make it a 15-point lead.

From there, the Lumberjacks went on the comeback trail. The Chargers went a combined 9-for-18 at the FT line, while Boop Hardy had 11 and Lyna Brooks Jr. had four on a 16-9 Arthur Hill run.

It became a one-possession game, with Brooks sinking two free throws with 50.3 remaining. Tic-tac-toe passing got the ball to Dempsey Cull, who made a layup to bring the lead back up to five. Two missed threes on the next two Arthur Hill possessions wrapped things up.
