MIDLAND, Mich. - Sophomore Jameson Zimmer and junior Hattan Zimmer combined for three touchdowns, in a 28-7 Dow Chargers (1-2) (1-0) win over the Mount Pleasant Oilers (1-2) (0-1) at Midland Community Stadium.
The brother duo accounted for 150+ yards. Jameson had a two-yard rushing score to cap off an 18-play drive with 8:46 in the second quarter. Dow converted four third-down conversions during the drive and the TD run came on 4th and Goal.
Jameson had three rushes for 66 yards on Dow's opening drive of the second half, the third being a 25-yard scamper that made it 14-0. Hattan's first touch offensively went for six, a 36-yard receiving touchdown from sophomore QB Wynn Diegel with 11 minutes remaining.
The Chargers' other score was a pick-six, junior Max Brandt undercut a route and ran it back 30 yards in the final minute of the third quarter.
Mount Pleasant had one score, a 61-yard rushing touchdown for senior running back Jackson Griffin in the final minute of play.
Rounding Things Out
Dow Junior Cooper Ostyn had three sacks and a fumble recovery. Junior Jay Stevens had two tackles for a loss.
